If you like singing, come and join us!
Ashtead Choral Society was founded in 1949 and has been bringing the joy of wonderful choral music to audiences (and singers!) in this area of Surrey – and sometimes much farther afield – ever since. We perform a varied programme of regular concerts, accompanied by professional soloists and orchestras, with music from ancient to modern and offering different works and different challenges every year with the occasional indulgent repeat of one of those great and familiar works that we all know and love so well. Our concerts are usually performed in Dorking Halls or in one of the larger churches in Ashtead, Epsom or Dorking. We have also performed abroad on many highly successful and enjoyable tours of the musical capitals of Europe, including Paris, Chartres, Reims, Caen, Cologne, Prague, Salzburg, Florence, Pisa, Vicenza and Verona.
The choir now numbers over 100 singers and we always offer a warm welcome to new members, whether experienced or novices. If you love singing and enjoy a warm and friendly social atmosphere, please come along and try it out for a week or two. We ask only that you can sing and, if you join us, that you come to rehearsals regularly.
Annual membership costs £185 which works out at a little under £5 per rehearsal. Membership is free for those age 25 and under and there is a 50% reduction in fees for those age 26-30 or unemployed.
If you are interested in joining, then please contact Anne Bailey on 01372 278852 or email@example.com
Alternatively come along to a rehearsal. We rehearse on Monday evenings from 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm between September and June at Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, Woodfield Lane, Ashtead.
